Fireplaces, candlelight, warm beverages, hearty bowls of pasta…these are just some of the things making these restaurants some of the coziest places to enjoy a hot meal and warm welcome.

Walpole, NH: The Restaurant at Burdick’s

Known locally just as “Burdick’s”, this restaurant is owned by the same team that gave the world L.A. Burdick’s chocolates, on the of most celebrated chocolatiers in the world. The restaurant is equally delicious, and the French bistro setting makes this one of the go to spots for a cozy meal. If you go when the chocolate shop is open, be sure to grab a treat for your friends back home!

Peterborough, NH: Coopers Hill Public House

Cooper Hill’s tagline is, appropriately, “From Scratch and always in Good spirits.” They serve upscale traditional pub food and a vast array of libations, including a seriously robust whiskey list. We highly, highly recommend the irish nachos and, if you can, checking out one of their live music performances.

Chesterfield, NH: The Chesterfield Inn

Enjoy a fabulous dinner in a quintessentially New England setting, a renovated farmhouse complete with a 15 room inn. The menu changes with the seasons but whatever the offering, you won’t be disappointed. One of our personal favorites is the Lamb Shank, a treat you won’t forget!

Westmoreland, NH: Barn & Thistle

Looking for a cozy breakfast or lunch in-between your crosscountry ski or snowshoe adventure? Check out Barn & Thistle, a new restaurant serving scrumptious baked goods, full breakfasts, and delicious sandwiches. And don’t forget to buy some chocolate to sustain you on your next activity! Dinner and live music starting in early 2023.

Keene, NH: Granita Enoteca

Is there anything more cozy and satisfying on a wintry day than a warm bowl of homemade pasta? Granita is a fine dining experience that offers italian inpsired dishes with a menu that changes seasonally. To complete the experience, ask your server to recommend the perfect wine pairing – you won’t be disappointed!

Keene, NH: Luca’s Mediterranean Cafe

Luca’s serves small plates like papas bravas, Moroccan spiced roasted vegetables in a yogurt sauce, braised beef, and also larger dishes (for sharing or just for one!) like Gnocchi with braised beef or Chicken Marsala. Located in the heart of Central Square in Keene, it’s a favorite among locals and travelers alike.

Winchester, NH: Arlington Inn

Weather it’s a cream of mushroom soup you’re looking for or a NY Strip to get you through a cold winter’s day, The Arlington Inn has you covered. They offer a robust menu in a beloved local tavern that welcomes families and couples alike.

Keene, NH: Brewbakers

A great cafe that serves food, coffee, wine and beer until 7pm. The baked goods are legendary and the hot meals, ranging from egg sandwiches to salads to protein bowls, are delicious. There’s also a lovely and lovingly curated gift shop and creative space that makes the space feel like a an urban boutique hotel. At night, Nova Arts turns the space into a live music venue with acts like Yo La Tengo and late night dance parties.
